Dan Ottney,
Executive Producer
I began my career at CableVision in Mount Pleasant, MI, producing TV commercials for the emerging cable television advertising industry. I significantly grew the ad sales and production business over a 4-year period. In addition, I engineered, installed and maintained commercial insertion equipment resulting in maximum quality and results reporting. During this time, I attended Central Michigan University with studies in Business Management and Communications.
I was offered a position with Ad Systems in Salt Lake City, UT – a commercial insertion equipment manufacturer and developed new technology for seamless integration of local commercials on national TV networks. While there, I designed custom commercial insertion systems and installed and supported these systems at Cable TV systems nationwide.
Returning to hands-on production, I moved to Naples, Florida, for a position with National Educational Video as Director of Video Production. Here, I built and maintained a two-suite editing facility and ran all field and studio production. I produced, directed, shot and edited multitopic / format educational videos, providing national accreditation for nursing and healthcare.
I then accepted an opportunity to join the team at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL, at the ESPN – Entertainment venue. While there, I produced exclusive sports content for the ESPN Club. I produced show opens, promotional messaging and live interviews featuring premiere professional athletes. I produced preseason packages for multiple Major League Baseball and National Football League teams, highlighting the upcoming season.
While at Disney, I also produced for Disney I.D.E.A.S Studios and Disney Event Productions on a variety of projects, collaborating with the vast talent of Disney’s family. Projects included content for Live Events at Disney Conventions for companies such as UAW/GM motorsports, Mercury Marine, the Unmanned Vehicle Association of America, Cox Radio and promotional content for worldwide distribution and launch of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Growth continued, and I accepted a position at CarMax, The Auto Super Store in Richmond, VA, as Broadcast Producer. I managed the TV and Radio commercial production process. I partnered with the internal creative team, external agencies and vendors. Promoted to Business Manager of Broadcast Advertising and again to Senior Manager of Video Services, I internalized all production services and built two production facilities including insert stages, sound stages and multiple editing suites, graphics/animation and audio production facilities. I partnered with department leaders across the company to provide the highest level of video support enterprise wide. I also produced all live corporate events and continued to manage all external video partnerships.
I successfully relocated to Mount Pleasant, MI, and have produced a variety of content for local community groups and civic organizations including the Kiwanis Club, POW/MIA Memorial Association, Hopewell Ranch and others. With growing momentum, I have founded 2C2 Media “Concept to Completion” to provide my extensive production services to clients and partners in the place I have always called home… Michigan.
